From the top to the bottom, tons of details stick out. From the soaring eagle to the soaring scooter coming out of the skatepark bowl, there is so much going on. The rays of the sun behind the van, coming over the mountains, are actually strips of bacon. The multiple sheets of plywood and brooms on top of the van show that Adam is ready to make any spot work. Inside his smile shines through the windshield of his travelling home. He has put many miles traveling in the US and Canada in search of the next spot, DIY, or skatepark. A Ramptime Productions sticker made the cooler!
How did this model come about? Once Adam Hopkins started riding Bacon skateboards, the idea struck both Adam and Bacon Skateboards that a guest model would be appropriate. Adam is a well recognized skateboarder across Canada and the US. After the design was finished, they went into production.
Platform received its first delivery of his pro model in 2 sizes just before July 1st. We packed up some 8.25 and his preferred size of 8.6 and set out to surprise him at the Seylynn Skatepark. That day is the kick off to The Bowl Series. A contest celebrating all of the old style skateparks in Vancouver and surrounding areas. Seylynn, Griffin, White Rock and finishing in Whistler. The best skaters of the series is crowned the King Of The Bowls. Adam had already won that years ago. Taking first place at every stop when he earned the crown.
This day was different though. It was surprise time. How do you surprise someone who already know he is getting a model? Get 10 kids to deliver a board each while he is talking with friends between contest events.
